Paul F. Beyer - Chief Executive Officer
A growth-oriented executive with a proven track record, Paul Beyer brings 20 years of leadership experience in healthcare services to the helm of Ascend Clinical. Mr. Beyer came to the company after serving as Specialty Laboratories, Inc.’s first externally recruited president. During his tenure as president, COO and a member of the Board of Directors, the company introduced more than 500 assays to the market and posted significant continued financial growth, culminating in a successful IPO on the New York Stock Exchange.
Prior to joining Specialty, Mr. Beyer was CEO of Medical Laboratory Network, a leading national provider of clinical laboratory testing services. Previously, he spent a decade at the Mayo Clinic in entrepreneurial leadership positions, most recently serving as the Director of Mayo Medical Ventures which identified and capitalized on opportunities to commercialize the clinical staff’s discoveries and innovations.
Mr. Beyer earned a bachelor of science in management from Niagara University and a master of business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Patricia Hunsader, MT, CLS, ASCP - Chief Operating Officer
In the past 20 years, Patti Hunsader has provided operational direction and oversight for a range of facilities from start-up laboratories to large volume reference laboratory operations. A licensed clinical laboratory scientist, Ms. Hunsader completed a medical technology internship at San Jose State University and El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, California. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and California Clinical Laboratory Association.
Ms. Hunsader earned a bachelor degree in biological sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Jeffrey Vizethann - Executive Vice President, Sales
Jeffrey Vizethann has worked side-by-side with clinicians for more than two decades to understand and apply technical solutions to their laboratory services needs. Prior to joining Ascend Clinical, Mr. Vizethann served as Sales and Marketing Manager for Clinical Diagnostic Services. He began his career with SmithKline Beecham Clinical Laboratories.
Mr. Vizethann earned a bachelor of science in biology & chemistry and a master of business administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Olivier Gindraux - Chief Financial Officer
With over 20 years’ financial experience, Olivier Gindraux serves as Ascend Clinical’s Chief Financial Officer. Previously the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Human Resources for Bohan Group, Mr. Gindraux oversaw the company’s finance, accounting and human resource functions. While based in London, Mr. Gindraux served as the Chief Financial Officer for Thomson Financial - Europe, Middle East, and Africa. He later became a Managing Director where he oversaw transaction businesses, software and settlement operations. In addition, he held various roles including Chief Financial Officer in the Standard & Poor’s companies where he worked for 10 years.
Mr. Gindraux began his career in New York City at Price Waterhouse. A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Gindraux earned a master of business administration degree from Rutgers University.
Martin Blair - Vice President, Quality Assurance
A California-licensed clinical laboratory scientist, Martin Blair heads Ascend Clinical’s Quality Assurance effort in Operations. Each year, Mr. Blair’s organization oversees Ascend Clinical’s pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic testing, conducting more than 13 million ESRD-related tests annually. Mr. Blair developed a measurement tool that more than 500 dialysis centers across the United States now use to reduce pre-analytical errors.
Mr. Blair earned two master's degrees - one in Clinical Science and a second in business administration, as well as dual bachelor's degrees from Humboldt State University.
LinaCel Cadden - Vice President, Laboratory Operations
A California-licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Ms. Cadden oversees Ascend Clinical’s laboratory as part of the company’s Operations team. In this capacity, she heads the technical management team and manages 60 clinical professional in the laboratory’s pre-analytical and analytical areas and leads new assay development, instrument procurement, and contract negotiations. Ms. Cadden previously functioned as an environmental supervisor and laboratory technical manager.
Ms. Cadden earned a master of business administration from the University of Southern California, and a bachelor of science degree in medical technology from Loma Linda University.
